What is a Gap Year?
A Gap Year is a period, typically one academic year, taken by a student as a break between secondary school and higher education.

Statistics:
- More than 90% of Gappers go to university after their Gap Year, much higher than the regular population
- Only 3% of Gappers drop out of university (compared to nearly 40% of non-Gappers);
- Gappers finish their BA on average two years faster than students who go right in to university (and that includes the Gap Year!).
- Gappers get higher GPAs than their peers who go directly to college. (This is particularly true for those who didn't get high GPAs in high school or come from marginalized groups.)
